Derbyshire Constabulary announce free webinars for Cyber Security Awareness Month

As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month (October 2024) Derbyshire Police's Cybercrime Unit, along with Derbyshire County Council Community Safety Unit, will be hosting webinars to raise awareness of the most prevalent issues reported online, including how to further protect yourselves, and your families.



Their webinars are run on MS Teams. You do not need an account, but you will need to download the MS Teams app to be able to join the Webinar.  To receive the link to join the meeting, you will also need to register your interest in the relevant webinars.

 

If you are unable to make the dates below, these webinars will be repeated in the future – they will be advertised via Derbyshire Alert (www.derbyshirealert.co.uk) and via the Facebook page, Derbyshire Police Online Safety.

Cyber Security Month - Cyber Awareness and avoiding fraud and scams, Thursday, October 3 at 6:30pm. To register your place please visit :


Financially Motivated Sexual Exploitation online (FMSE aka Sextortion) For Parents, Carers and those who work with teenagers on Tuesday, October 15 at 3.45pm. To register your place please visit :


If you belong to a community group, Neighbourhood Watch, Business Networking group etc, and would be interested in an in-person session or webinar, forward an email to cyber@derbyshire.police.uk to discuss your options.


 

Reporting

Report all Fraud and Cybercrime to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040 or online. Forward suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk. Report SMS scams by forwarding the original message to 7726 (spells SPAM on the keypad).
